I have been at Tamdown for over ten years now, mainly because from my experience hard work is recognised and rewarded. Colleagues are friendly and supportive and it’s a great working atmosphere.

I joined Tamdown as a Groundworker back in 2005 and since then my position has grown. In 2008 I was promoted to be a Foreman and in 2012 to Site Manager. I believe Tamdown are a great company with great people, and I say to the guys on my sites “Help each other, work as a team, be honest but most importantly be happy.

I love the diversity of my role and have found such great support and comradery in the Tamdown Construction team and the wider business and industry; I can thoroughly recommend a career within construction to anyone considering it.

I am pleased to work for a business that takes Wellbeing and mental health seriously. I am a Wellbeing Champion for Tamdown and received mental health first aid training to help me support any colleagues who may be experiencing difficulties. The recent addition of the Employee Assistance Programme is a great enhancement as it gives us all professional, independent support.

I like that my role offers variety – not every day is the same and because I have experienced other roles in finance, I can provide support to the team where required and pass on my knowledge. I also enjoy problem solving and using my knowledge and experience to find better ways of doing tasks.

Working on site and dealing with record keeping, material testing and deliveries, plant, resources and more keeps me very busy. I really enjoy working on-site and seeing developments go from empty fields to communities full of homes.

I thrive on helping my team, dealing with drawings, material quotes and keeping everything organised. In turn my line manager and colleagues are super supportive of me and my career.
